From March 1st to 9th all fashion eyes were on Paris for the Paris Fashion Week, with which ended the marathon of the major and most prominent fashion weeks.
Almost all well known French designers together with many others have chosen the French capital as the place to present their collections for the AW2016/17. Paris is considered the capital of world fashion for more than 300 years and PFW is the last, the longest (it lasts 9 days) and the most glamorous of all.
We watched the fashion shows of Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Christian Dior, Hermes, Balmain, Elie Saab, Valentino, Miu Miu, Chloe, Guy Laroche, Carven, Paco Rabanne, Lanvin, Loewe, Isabel Marant, Balenciaga, Vivienne Westwood, Nina Ricci, Celine, Givenchy, Valentino, Stella McCartney , Saint Laurent and of many others.
The Runways
The major fashion designers competed each other on the originality and the design of their shows. All runway shows were impressive and each one had its own character and theme. H&M’s show made the difference this season. It was an hymn to diversity. Instead of skinny young models, H&M chose models of all ethnicities, ages and sizes!! That was an extremely important statement in the world of fashion if we consider that during PFW many non white models complained of being bullied backstage!
Elle and Harper’s Bazaar present the best looks and Vogue as usual choses the 7 best fashion shows.
Street Style
Street style in Paris was the most interesting and the most inspired of all! The streets of Paris were live runways all day long.
Elle and Harper’s Bazaar published a lot of photographs taken in the street.
PFW attracts many celebrities as well, just like NFW and more. Vogue presents the best street styles of both the ordinary girls and the celebrities.
Beauty Trends
In Paris we saw all the new hair and makeup trend for the next season. Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar show us the best beauty trends for the AW2016/17. Cat eyes, smokey eyes, dark lipsticks together with sleeky buns or wavy hair in all colours.
The Accessories
The bags, the shoes and the other accessories presented in PFW gave us ideas on what to buy for the AW2016/17.
Vogue and Elle show us the best accessories.
The new fashion trends for AW2016/17
This fashion week marathon came to an end in Paris so we can say for sure that the new trends for autumn and winter 2016-17 are well established, as we saw them everywhere: black, metallics, navy style, velvet, sporty chic, bohemian, furs, skirts and tweeds. That’s what we are going to see in the windows of the stores in autumn. Elle shows us the basic trends.
Enjoy!!!
